Musical Toolbox
Sat 10-10:45am, Jan. 10th – March 7th (Every Second Week)
This class will introduce the fundamentals of music theory to young students in a fun and engaging way. We will cover note identification on the staff and keyboard, rhythm basics, musical terminology and ear training. Students will also have the opportunity to perform for each other at the end of each class. This class serves as a pre-requisite to the Royal Conservatory Theory book 1 class. Students must be enrolled in private lessons to participate.
Prelude Strings Junior Orchestra
Sat 11-11:45am, Jan 10th – March 7th (Every Second Week)
This group introduces string students to the basics of orchestra playing in a fun and friendly environment. Students should be able to read basic notes and rhythms and have at least one year of playing experience. Open to violin, viola and cello students RCM 2/Suzuki 2 level and above.
Adult/homeschool group class
Thurs 1:30-2:30, Jan. 8th – March 5th (Every Second Week)
Designed for adults new to group playing, this fun and relaxed class introduces basic theory and note reading as we learn to play simple music in two or more parts. Stop practicing alone and start making music in a welcoming group! No formal ensemble experience required.
Royal Conservatory of Music Theory – Book 1
Mon 4:15-5pm, Jan. 5th – March 9th (Every Second Week)
This course provides a structured and comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts outlined in the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Level 1 Theory Syllabus. It is the ideal companion for students in their early years of instrumental study and a necessary foundation for all subsequent theory levels.
